We finally made it to the Houston Zoo this past weekend. We had been told for the past year how wonderful it was and that the kids would love it so we decided to take them now that it has finally cooled off some. It was the perfect day to go to zoo. It was about 70 degrees and very overcast. The zoo was great. There were tons of animals- all of which we were able to see and they looked like they were very well kept. Landon was probably the most fun to watch because this was the first time he was actually into seeing the animals. He loved the elephants, the petting zoo and the reptiles the most. He made us stand and watch the elephants forever and we still had to make him leave them. He is going to be my daredevil child. While we were in the reptile exhibit there was a zookeeper that was holding a snake out of its habitat and my son walked right up and started petting the snake before the lady ever saw him. He kept telling her to put it on the ground and let it go so he could play with it. Now just to set the record straight he will NEVER have any reptile in our house EVER. Reagan liked all the animals and even after much coaxing she went into the petting zoo. She would not go in until Landon and Chuck went in and she saw that Landon would pet the animals and they weren't hurting him. She went into the petting zoo area but she still wasn't sure about actually touching the animals. You will see in the pictures that one hand was constantly in daddy's hand and the other was kept right up close to her body so no animal could reach it. We finally did get one shot of her petting a goat that was lying on a bench looking away from her. They had a great time and we will definitely go back in the future.
